On 07 July 2026, Sainik Setu launched Mission VEER – Veteran Emotional Empowerment & Response at ECHS Polyclinic, Mangaluru. The initiative was launched by Brig. I. N. Rai (Retd.), with Mrs. Usha Rao, Founder Trustee, Luminara Charitable Trust, as Guest of Honour, in the presence of Sgt. Shrikanth Shetty Bala, President, Dakshina Kannada Zilla ESMA, and Sub Maj (Hon Capt) Ganapayya Sherigar, President, Udupi Zilla ESM Forum.
Mission VEER is supported by the Udupi District Ex-Servicemen Forum, Dakshina Kannada Zilla ESM Association and trained volunteer counsellors, known as Sainik Saathis, who offer a listening ear with empathy, dignity and confidentiality.
