Sainik Setu took the opportunity to connect directly with the Veterans of Dakshina Kannada District by setting up an enrollment counter for Mission VEER during the Annual General Body Meeting held at Mangaluru on 16 August 2026.

The initiative provided Veterans and their families with an opportunity to learn about Mission VEER and its focus on emotional wellbeing, regular wellbeing calls, companionship and access to appropriate support.

Connecting with the Veteran Community

The enrollment counter enabled the Sainik Setu team to interact with Veterans personally, explain the initiative and facilitate registrations for those interested in becoming part of the Mission VEER community.

Such direct engagement with Veterans’ Associations is an important part of Sainik Setu’s approach to ensuring that support initiatives are accessible, community-driven and responsive to the needs of Veterans and their families.

Recognising Service

The event was also attended by Capt. Ganesh Karnik, Ex-MLC, Karnataka.

On the occasion, Col. Viraj Kamath was felicitated in recognition of his service. Col. Kamath was due to retire from Group Headquarters, Mangaluru, on 31 August 2026.

The felicitation provided an opportunity for the Veteran community to acknowledge and appreciate his contribution and dedicated service.

Sainik Setu sincerely thanks DKZ ESMA for organising the Annual General Body Meeting and providing an opportunity to engage with the Veteran community. We deeply appreciate their continued support and collaboration in furthering initiatives for the wellbeing of Veterans and their families.

Sainik Setu remains committed to working alongside Veterans’ Associations and community organisations to strengthen the support ecosystem for Military Families.

Through initiatives such as Mission VEER, Sainik Setu seeks to ensure that no Veteran feels isolated and that support remains within reach when it is needed.
