In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Sainik Setu, in collaboration with the Udupi District Ex-Servicemen Forum, successfully identified a suitable Age Care Facility and facilitated the rehabilitation of a Family Pensioner — the widow of an Ex-Serviceman.
The journey involved more than simply identifying a facility. Our team visited her home, assessed her situation and care requirements, and coordinated the next steps. She was then taken to the hospital recommended by the Age Care Facility, where the necessary medical assessments and tests were undertaken.
We also liaised with the local law enforcement authorities to complete the necessary coordination and ensure a safe and appropriate transition. Following this, she was successfully admitted to the Age Care Facility, where she can now receive the care and support she requires.
It is a small but meaningful step towards building a trusted support system for our veterans and their families.
